Projects
My interests and experiences so far have been pretty varied and fulfilling! I’m always looking to learn more. Below you’ll find a few of the projects I’ve worked on.
Nuevo Foundation
In 2018 I co-founded a STEM education non-profit called Nuevo Foundation with the mission “to inspire kids to be curious, confident, and courageous by discovering the world of STEM”. Our goal is to get kids, particularly students with minimal exposure to careers in technology, to see and learn from people in STEM fields that look like them. Since 2018, we have reached 32 countries and over 12,000 students. From post-event surveys, we have found that 92.9% of students are more interested in STEM and 90.9% believed they learned to code in our (open-source & free!) coding workshops.
Graduate Projects
Much of the work done in graduate school has been around theoretical concepts, but each class has had some practical application.
Microsoft
I joined the Azure Data group at Microsoft in the fall of 2016 as a new college hire and have worked within SQL Server and Azure Open Source Databases (OSS) Services. Here are a few of the public tools and features I’ve worked on!
Undergraduate Projects
I studied computer science (and biology!) at Wellesley College. During my time as an undergraduate, I was able to work on a few projects, both in the classroom and over different internships.
